Who maps the Cascades Casino block

On Vees Drive in Penticton, this independent guide covers the block around Cascades Casino Penticton, from the curling rink next door to the lake shore. The Vees Drive desk signs it, an editorial team rather than a named person.

The Vees Drive desk

The Vees Drive desk writes this guide and works apart from the casino, from Gateway and from BCLC. No bets are taken here, and the site holds no player accounts. The byline belongs to the desk as a whole, with no named author behind it.

Its focus is the block: what stands near Vees Drive, which buses stop close by, how far the valley towns lie and how Cascades runs from opening to close.

Checking the numbers

In October 2026 the desk checked every fact against BC Transit stop data, BCLC, the Government of British Columbia and the casino's pages at cascadescasinopenticton.com. Distances to the block, the water and the valley towns are straight lines from OpenStreetMap. Each runs from the casino's map point to a place, or to the middle of a large park or long path. Volunteers edit that map, so a listed place can close or change.

Holiday hours, Summit Bar hours and parking are not published by the casino. The poker table has no posted closing time, and the Wednesday to Saturday tables close at "Late". In those cases the guide says it does not know. A call to 250-487-1280 confirms holiday hours.

How the pictures were produced

Each picture on these pages is the output of an image generator, and no photograph appears among them. Five were generated from real photographs of Cascades Casino Penticton, though the viewpoint and light are the generator's own. They show the covered entrance, the casino across its lot, MATCH from the drive, the pub inside and the slot floor. The lake shore, river channel, rose garden, bus shelter, curling rink and vineyard road are invented, not the real places named on the map. No people appear in any picture.

Who pays the desk

Ad tags mark every paid link, and no page besides the home page holds one. A commission flows to the guide from the privately run online casino behind those links, and that destination can be swapped. British Columbia neither licenses nor regulates it, and it is a separate business from PlayNow. IGCO complaints, PlayNow limits and Game Break terms do not affect it. Links to Cascades, BCLC, the province or help services are never paid for.
